The festival will be followed by a retreat led by Gen Kelsang Dornying, the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia. This retreat is a special opportunity to emphasise meditation, the heart of Buddhist practice.

This guided retreat, based on the teachings given at the 2011 Australasian Festival, is a special opportunity to emphasise meditation, the heart of Buddhist practice. Gain experience of the meditations that form the Buddhist way of life, and enjoy meditation practices that enable you to connect with your Buddha nature, your extraordinary spiritual potential. Discover for yourself, or deepen your experience, of what it means to be a Buddhist by meditating on Buddha's liberating path of compassion and wisdom. The happiness this gives rise to, a happiness from within, is far more enjoyable than any ordinary pleasure and will inspire you to go deeper into spiritual practice and enjoy a truly meaningful life.

The retreat begins the morning of Wednesday 23rd Nov and finishes at lunchtime Sunday 27th Nov.

(Please note: Accommodation costs include the evening of Tue 22 Nov through to Sun lunchtime. Single, Twin and Double Room accommodation is limited, and it is only possible to book these rooms if you have also booked these rooms for the Australasian Festival).

• $165 – 8 Person Dorm (includes retreat sessions, accommodation & meals each day) - bring your own sleeping bag & towel
• $240 (per person) – Twin/Double Room (includes retreat sessions, accommodation & meals each day)
• $290 – Single Room (includes retreat sessions, accommodation & meals each day)
